Congrats on publishing man, that's really cool. How long did it take you to write?
It was written over the span of about a year. I'll probably cover it in greater detail in a later post, but here's the short version. It started out as a Night in the Lonesome October story that I intended for the Lovecraftzine's Lonesome October issue, but it was already over 12000 words (and growing) when I talked to Mike about it, and he told me that it was just too long to be feasible. That was June or July 2013. So I shelved it and wrote something else for the zine. I returned to it at the beginning of this year, plugging away with 500 words every day, and stripping out the elements specific to October, and reworking it as a more "generic" Mythos story. I wrapped up the writing in March, then returned to it again in May for some edits, and tweaked it on and off over the past month.Eventually, I decided that all the tweaking wasn't making it "better", just "different", so I decided to sit down and publish.
